Do you hate Disney or something?
No, actually. I love Disney. I grew up watching Disney movies nearly every day and was even a passholder for one of the theme parks for over seven years.
Then why so critical?
Disney movies are translated into hundreds of languages and watched, many times over and over again, by children all over the world. Disney is a massive, unavoidable influence on kids. For that reason, I believe they should be held to an extremely high standard.
You're looking too deep. Kids don't even pick up on that stuff!
You're greatly underestimating children's ability to pick up on subtlties! Children as young as two years old pick up on stereotyped behaviors based on race, even when they're not being raised by racist parents. Many of these ideas, along with those about beauty and sexuality, come from the media they consume.
